And best of all, workshop curriculum is completely customizable based on employer needs. Our workshops provide up to 72 hours of instruction on topics including digital literacy, customer service, and tech support, but can be updated with company-specific instruction so applicants can hit the ground running once they begin their new jobs. Like many people living in Leslie County, Amanda Combs struggled to find stable, gainful employment in her hometown for years.

“I’ve always wanted to work from home,” Combs says as she turns from working at a computer terminal in the Hyden Teleworks USA Hub.

For five years, Combs worked on and off as a substitute teacher for the local school district—a job she says she was grateful for but wasn’t enough to pay the bills.

Leslie Countian Jeremiah Ford knows hard work.

After finishing college, the Hyden native moved to Minnesota to work in the foodservice industry, working his way into an executive sous chef position at a prestigious Michelin 4-star rated restaurant. Long workdays spent on his feet over hot stoves, handling dangerous kitchen equipment, and dealing with irate customers instilled in Ford an appreciation of hard work.
