Teleworks USA Partnering with Digital Careers Now to Prepare Individuals for Remote-Work Careers as State-Licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Agents

Teleworks USA and Digital Careers Now are partnering to host a two-week training session to prepare interested and motivated Eastern Kentucky residents for careers as remote-work, state licensed property and casualty insurance agents.

With additional collaboration from Big Sandy Area Community Action Program (BSACAP) and Big Sandy Community and Technical College, the two-week session is set to begin June 18 at the college’s Mayo Campus in Paintsville. The first week will include Teleworks USA’s proven customer service workshop curriculum, followed by a week of class time—led by an insurance expert—designed to prepare individuals to successfully pass the Kentucky property and casualty insurance license exam by July 3.

Teleworks USA, an initiative of Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program (EKCEP), will work to connect individuals who successfully obtain the state license to the agency’s partner company, Granada, which is currently hiring licensed property and casualty agents for work-from-home positions in Kentucky.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a position working from home,” said Michael Cornett, EKCEP director of agency expansion and Teleworks USA. “These are full-time positions with an hourly salary and opportunities for bonuses, with no travel requirement.”

Thanks to the partnership with Digital Careers Now, all training-related costs associated with the two-week session will be covered for qualified applicants, including any fees and study materials. Beginning June 18, all activity will take place at the Mayo Campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College as follows:

  • June 18-22 - Teleworks USA customer service workshop at Mayo Campus
  • June 25-28 - Property and Casualty licensing training
  • June 29 – Exam prep (no classes)
  • July 2 – Exam prep (no classes)
  • July 3 - Kentucky property and casualty licensing exam

“Beginning in July, Granada has committed to consider hiring qualified, licensed candidates in our service area, and the Kentucky property and casualty license is the major qualification the company is looking for—in addition to top-notch, accelerated customer service preparation that Teleworks USA has successfully delivered at workshops across our region over the past three years,” Cornett said. “Our staff is prepared to connect prospective teleworkers with these opportunities once they’re prepared, licensed, and ready to apply.”

Seats for this initial training session are limited. Anyone interested in applying should contact Sandy Grimm with BSACAP at 606-789-3641 today to register.
